Palau de la Música Catalana , C/ Palau de la Música, 4-6, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

Depending on the size of the group and the traffic restrictions on the day of the tour, your tour will finish back at the office, or in Placa Catalunya, which is an easy 3-5 minute walk from the office.

Climb aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle at a centrally located pickup point in Barcelona, and admire the picturesque Catalan countryside as you travel toward your fist stop, the ancient city of Girona. Listen as your guide regales you with tales dating back to Girona’s 76 BC origin, and then embark on a tour of the medieval metropolis’ rich architectural tableau.

During some leisurely free time, see the great Cathedral, founded in 1038 on the site of a former Mosque, admire the spectacular Roman walls that defended the city from attackers, or travel back in time at one of Girona’s comprehensive museums.

Return to the vehicle and then head to Pals, a small city that grew from the foreboding fortress at its center. Continue to the charming fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, and gaze at the dramatic hillside scenery as you travel past Begur, site of ancient castle ruins.

On arrival in Calella de Palafrugell, relish the picturesque tableau of whitewashed houses and pristine sandy beaches, and set off to explore the rugged coastline. Sink your toes into the soft sands of the beach, take a dip in the refreshing waters of the ocean, or absorb the botanical beauty of the cliff top gardens at Cap Roig.

Reconvene with your guide and group at a prearranged time, and relax during the journey back to Barcelona, where your tour concludes.

Beautiful visit to Girona, Pals, and Calella de Palafrugell! Our trip to Girona coincided with the beginning of the Flower Festival which only made the trip more special! I booked 5 tours with Explore Catalunya and had an amazing time! All the tour guides are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and flexible. I highly recommend this tour company!

Our guide helped us pack a ton of very different things into this great day. We were really glad to have found this fun and efficient way of seeing so many different areas outside of the city of Barcelona where we had spent the prior several days.

Our tour guide, Camilo, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He shared so many interesting facts about the places we visited, including history of the names. I highly recommend this tour for sightseeing, especially Girona for die hard GOT fans.

Our guide Camillo was absolutely fantastic. I want to start by sharing that of the 3 couples on our trip, there was one member of our group in a wheelchair. Camillo could not have been more compassionate and ready to go above and beyond to ensure she and her husband were comfortable and got to see as much as possible despite many limitations of the old cities we were in. He set the tone and while we were strangers, we all worked together to look out for one another, and that is just not always something that happens when you travel with groups. He was also hyper aware of how the extra time or slower pace might affect his other guests and was quick to go above to make certain we got to see everything we set out too. That being said, he was extremely knowledgeable, personable, funny, and professional. The towns we visited were absolutely lovely, and our only regret was that our tour was on our last day in Spain, or we would have taken another. Girona is like a fairytale, and Camillo's knowledge was so helpful. He is clearly passionate about what he does. We also appreciated the time to explore on our own, as often during tours its easy to feel a bit rushed. I highly recommend Explore Catalunya!  We will be doing another tour when we return to the area.  We loved the city of Barcelona but were incredibly thankful to get out and see more of what Catalunya has to offer.

Seeing Girona and the parade of musicians and horses for Sant Jordis day. We had time after lunch to stroll on the beach and relax. Cam answered all our questions thoughtfully and we felt very comfortable with him and his driving. He was generous with his knowledge and humorous.
