Tour of July 2021

Being a hearing impaired individual, I was quite shocked that this tour had no way to interpret for those with a disability. I had to have a friend interpret the tour for me. It has the tour in multiple languages, but not for anyone that is hearing impaired. If you wear a hearing aid or other device please not you can not hear this tour.

Spectacular, captivating, awe inspiring.

Some of the most memorable parts were viewing the brass (?) bull of Wall Street, St. Patrick’s (?) Cathedral, and what appeared to be the One World Tower (?), although the name is probably wrong. I Highly recommend starting the tour at Times Square.

The driver was great! Very animated and informative. Pointed out fun facts and made it a fun experience. A great way to take a break from walking and still see the city.

Very good tour! Got to see many things we wouldn't have been able to if we would have driven. Very nice tour and convenient to get on and off when wanting to.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! Do the boat cruise instead!

I purchased two tickets for my husband and I to see downtown NYC on the 4th of July. We downloaded the app and picked up the bus at the liberty stop. We were denied boarding by the driver after he looked at our QR code wrong. He just glanced and told us, “NO.” We were finally allowed on but told we had to sit on the bottom where there were no open windows and no air conditioning. No maps or audio tours were offered or provided either, it was awful. We rode to Hell’s Kitchen and were told to get off and another bus would come by in 10 mins to finish the tour. The next bus came unloaded and we all lined up to get on. ZERO instructions or announcements were made to notify us that the bus tours were stopping. We got on the bus and we’re screamed at to get off. Apparently, the bus tours were no longer running for the day but they just expected us to know that. We were stuck in the middle of town and out a 100 bucks. Absolutely nothing that I paid for did we receive. We didn’t see any landmarks, there was no onboard pre recorded commentary provided it was worse than a city bus! Neither was there any customer service or kindness shown to us. We were met with hostile dishonest Big Bus employees at every turn. I travel often and would love to do more tours in other cities but I will NEVER get on another BigBus again!

Helps get your bearings, but not much more

The tour was a good way to get a broad overview of some tourist highlights and the layout of the area. The earbuds to listen to the recorded guided tour narrative didn’t work well at all so we couldn’t actually learn anything as we went or even know what we were looking at. Fortunately, I had downloaded the Big Bus app that showed our bus’ movement in real time, so we were able to see where we were and actually know what we were looking at. There was little help in the way of letting passengers know what the stops were near. I’m glad we did this tour, simply because it gave a broadstroke view of Midtown and Lower Manhattan. But we learned nothing about the landmarks. It was a pricey way to take a drive. Summary: easy way to get a lay of the land, but don’t count on any guidance, education.

No air conditioning on the bus in the July heat was horrendous! Our driver was rude. Will NEVER use this company again. Would recommend a different option in NYC.

Good luck actually getting a bus

This company ruined my day in New york and has been totally unresponsive to my emails. The directions that they send you state a list od several stios and atates that you can pick up the bus at eny of the stops. We walked all over that city going to 3 different stops, waited 20 minutes at each stop for the bus, only to see if drive by each stop. We never got to actually get on the bus. It doesnt stop anywhere. It wastes our whole morning and then we were tired and cranky from walking all over. I am ahocked that viator would list auch a terrible company as an option. We have sent 3 emails and have not gotten a response to any of them. I am now going through my credit card company to get a refund. Wont use viator or big bus again.
