Start your small-group tour of Coba and Tulum with pickup from your Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya hotel. Get comfortable in your air-conditioned minivan for the drive to each archaeological site. A buffet lunch and beverages are provided during the day.

Coba is your first stop, with a tour of the preserved and rebuilt ruins. At its peak, Coba had a population of about 50,000 inhabitants and an area of 80 square miles (129 sq km). Walk past two ball courts and see the sacbé, or white roads, that once linked Maya cities. If you'd like, climb the 120 steep steps up Nohoch Mul—the tallest pyramid on the Yucatán Peninsula—and be rewarded with views of the dense jungle from the top.

Then head down to Cho Ha Cenote for a spectacular swim in the emerald waters of this sinkhole. Highlights include limestone stalactites formed over centuries.

From there, drive to Tulum, the only archaeological site built on the Caribbean coast. Once a thriving seaport, it housed Maya nobility and merchants within its walls. Meander the groomed paths with your guide who points out noteworthy structures such as a restored temple whose murals reveal ancient red pigments. Learn about the Spanish conquest of the city during your walk around.

The final stop on your full-day tour is Playa Paraiso (Paradise Beach), one of the most visited beaches of the Riviera Maya. Relax under a palm tree and soak up the last hours of sun or swim in the turquoise sea, with a prime view of the ruins above.

Your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel in Playa del Carmen or the Riviera Maya.

WOW what an amazing trip...

WOW what an amazing trip this was! And it had a little bit of everything. The ruins were absolutely beautiful, the beach was gorgeous, and the cenote was the best one we’ve had an opportunity to swim in. I highly recommend this tour! We had a small group so it was very intimate and our tour guide Manuel was amazing. He provided us with great history of the Mayan culture, from the building of the structures, to their culture and way of life, as well as the agriculture and plant life surrounding the beautiful areas.

We had an absolutely wonderful tour with Manuel and Javier. The information Manuel gave was fantastic. He went into great depth at the ruins. The lunch stop was so delicious. The Cenote was beautiful. It was a very informative and enjoyable trip. I would highly recommend it.

Hugo was a great tour leader. He had a great depth of knowledge about the Mayan history and traditions with some wonderful stories to explain their beliefs. Beware if you have mobility issues there is a great amount of walking. Very steep and many steps down to the Cenote and two long walks to the ruins. However in Coba there are two person passenger pedaled bikes that will take you around the ruins for $8.

Great experience

Manuel was an amazing tour guide! He had a great energy and was very funny! We started the day off at the Tulum Ruins, headed to Paradise Beach and then headed to Coba. At Coba, we stopped at an authentic restaurant where we were provided a buffet style meal (safe for vegetarians/vegans). After that we headed to the Coba Ruins and then a beautiful cenote! Make sure you bring a towel. The bus (driven by Luis!) had air conditioning and water was always provided. If you are staying in Tulum, make sure to contact the company before hand, they did not pick us up at our hotel (we stayed at the Hotel Zone in Tulum) which was a bummer because we had to waste 20 USD on taxis to get to the meeting point. Besides that, the tour was amazing full of new friends!

Incredible tour! We feel so lucky to have had Hugo as a tour guide. He was the most knowledgeable guide we've ever had on any tour. Ruben was also a great driver. Don't miss out on this!

Great tour, didn't really need paradise beach

Really great tour overall. I did wish we had a little more time at tulum ruins to explore the full ruins. Coba ruins felt like the right amount of time. Same with the cenote visit. The only thing I would say is not needed is paradise Beach. The group I went with, we decided to skip Paradise Beach. We got there and there is nothing very special compared to the other beaches we went to on our own so we collectively decided to skip it and move ahead with the rest of the trip. I think the trip is already pretty packed, and this stop isn't really necessary. Overall, had a great time!
