Small Group Half Day Muir Woods and Sausalito Afternoon Tour

We are very happy we decided to visit Muir woods. It is a spectacular forest, a once in a lifetime experience. Michael, our guide was very friendly and had a lot of knowledge of this place, which he shared with us. It was overall a great experience!

Our driver arrived 45 minutes late to pick us up and no one from the tour company contacted us to let us know they were running late, we were worried we had been scammed. We called the tour company multiple times and left messages and no one called us back. Called from a different phone and did not leave a message, they called back immediately. He told us he would contact the driver but then never called us back and didn't answer the phone when we called. After finally being picked up we started our journey. This was advertised as a guided trip, our driver barely spoke a word driving through SF and when he did speak , no one could hear him other than the person sitting in the front seat.

Muir Woods is absolutely wonderful and everyone should get to experience this amazing natural beauty. With that said the tour guide ruined what would have been a great experience by running really late, not being forthcoming about what to expect when asked about a realistic timeframe, and blaming other passengers on the tour for his own tardiness. The tour is listed as pick up at 1:30 from the hotel and last for 4 hours (5:30 end?) I received text that we would be picked up at 1:40 or 1:45 which would have been fine but we were finally picked up at 2:15. Before boarding the van I asked if we would be back at least by 6:00, and was told by Michael the tour guide, that would be no problem. Later at Muir Woods he changed his answer to between 6:00 and 6:30. By the time we got to Sausalito he changed the answer to "somewhere around 6:30". When I voiced concern about the changing times Michael said it was because other passengers weren't ready at their hotel pick up time and that's why we were now running so late. After he walked away the passengers in the first group, picked up from Union Square, shared that Michael actually picked them up 30 minutes late. Because we were now so late I had to hire an Uber to get back to the city, did not get to see any of Sausalito or get pictures at the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge. All very stressful, but we did make airport transport at 6:45 because we cut out tour short.

Great 4 hour expedition. The guide was knowledgeable and fun. We had enough time and good places to take some fabulous photos

Our driver was 45 minutes late . We only had one day to enjoy the sites so we planned accordingly . We were rushed though the stops . We were allowed 10 minutes at Golden Gate Bridge to take photos and use the restroom. We then rushed to Muir Woods where we were allowed an hour & 10 minutes . We then traveled to the town of Salsulito where we were told we could either take the Ferry back to Fisherrmans Warf which was a seperate fee we weren’t informed about . I wish I would of driven myself so I could of spent time at these places . Not worth the $ .

Discovering the misleading tour description. For $362, all you get is a bus trip and a driver with some facts about the area. No tickets to Muir Woods (another $60.00); no ferry tickets.

It was great to see and a good experience! Perfect time for us it was fun. Nice guide and group that we had.

Beautiful place, great tour guide…1 hour is not enough time to explore Muir Woods. I would Uber or Lyft up next time or choose a tour that gives you more time…

The Mire Wood Sausalito tour was great. The Redwood trees were magnificent. Before the tour I knew nothing about Sausaluto. Our tour guide was incredible. His knowledge about the area was excellent.
