Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour

Viator: This company rather than cancelling their walking tour of Ghosts, Witches and Pirates, had 21 guests walking in a downpour for most the tour of 1 1/2 hrs. After heavy downpours all afternoon, by 8 pm, rain was down to 45% precipitation, but within 30 mins, the precipitation went up again to 100 %. Colonial Williamsburg’s Ghost tours were cancelled appropriately, but Viator clearly did not wish to reschedule or refund anyone their money. I guess they don’t care about liability to their customers who might slip on wet surfaces in the dark. The tour guides were personable, but they should have had more sense. My family has slickers and we’re prepared for any additional showers, but downpours made this absolutely miserable. Guides were finally walking and talking realizing that some of us planned to cut out early, but instead we slogged on. Not worth my $60 to have a 7 yr old and grandparents deal with this. I guess your customers didn’t want to loose their money either so they endured this misery. Bad judgement on the part of the local group who should have advised Viator to cancel! We were all soaked to the bone and most the group had no rain jackets and were soaked through..

The guides shared pictures of images that others had caught. The guides were very informative and friendly. We really enjoyed the tour and are looking foward to doing another one in the future

Gracie was a great tour guide, full of knowledge and very entertaining. She and Mr. Pirate worked as a great team. Definitely worth checking out.

Gracie and Mr. Pirate were wonderful! I loved all the storytelling and the history of Williamsburg. It was spooky and fun! I would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed the stories; however some were inappropriate for younger children. Example: story of children caught stealing, their ears were nailed to the stakes & lobes were cut off. There were a few children under 7-8, & this story was definitely too scary for them. One child went back upset to his parents, & they had to tell him it was just a story, which did not seem to comfort him.

Tom was a great guide. Loved the mix of history and fun. Not a believer of ghosts, but we had a great time!

The opening was very entertaining. The walk around was awesome with the history, stories and interactions. Great job!!

What a fun and interesting experience. I have been on multiple "ghost tours" in various cities and these were the best hosts I have encountered! Gracie, Lexie and Mr. Pirate were so entertaining and seemed to really enjoy their job which translates into the group really enjoying the tour. I would recommend for all ages!

We loved our host!! She was very knowledgeable and fun. We loved Lexie. The stories about the buildings and the ghosts who live there were fascinating. We'd do it again!

My kids 6 n 10 yo enjoyed it! I see a lot of adults on the tour. Its a fun way to learn history and tour the place at night. Witch and pirate are very good! I realized we already took pics of the haunted location during the daytime reviwing pics next day. Then touring it at night is whole different level of drama to the history of the place.
